Does Prophecy Matter?
Throughout history certain men and women have acquired fame, or notoriety, by claiming to be able to predict future events. This has especially been true within religious faiths, where certain individuals have been regarded as divinely inspired, and their predictions have been accepted as the ordained will of God.
And throughout the ages, men and women of every generation have sought to know the future in the hope that, by so doing, they might gain some temporal advantage over others. As it was in the past, so is this true of the times in which we live today.
But does prophecy matter? Is it wise, or even possible, to know the path of future events? There are those who believe that life unfolds according to forces which can never be understood, and that any attempt to do so is sheer folly. They are content to take each day as it comes.
But prophecy is not simple prediction, and those who claim to be moved by prophetic impulse do not do so merely to inform. All true prophecy stands as a warning. And those who study and learn from these warnings may not only become guardians of wisdom – they may in time become beacons for the transformation of society.
The Buddha taught his disciples that those who were unaware of the meaning of their times “had much dust in their eyes.” They would have to acquire understanding by living through the consequences of their actions. They would have to travel along the path of suffering.
The purpose of all true prophecy is to inspire understanding, and to reduce suffering. Since our future is inexorably bound to those thoughts and actions that we initiate today, those who would profit from an understanding of prophecy, can save themselves from future suffering.
This is the purpose and the goal of the book “The Last Days of Tolemac“. It is designed to remove the dust from our eyes, and allow us to see the events of our times through the eyes of understanding, rather than through the veil of ignorance.
The words of the Oracle echo the warnings of St Paul. As he wrote in his epistle to the Ephesians:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
St Paul was not just pointing out that the true cause for the sufferings of this world have their origin in dark entities that populate more ethereal realms. Paul wrote to the Ephesians to warn them. His words were written as a warning, so that those who would listen “might be able to withstand in the evil day”.
According to the Oracle of Tolemac, that day is now upon us. Sadly for St Paul, the majority of the people who are alive in the world today are asleep.
They remain completely unaware of the tumultuous events that will shortly come to pass on the earth. They will be the ones who will be mute witnesses to terror, and vicims of the catastrophes that are coming.
